I'm with Derek, that "Mint" red '89 is not mint. Also throwing out an appraisal from over a decade ago is not useful, don't these people watch Antiques Roadshow or have any other way of understanding that markets fluctuate? I'm guessing that's the last time it was detailed... Time does not do good things to cars, I can't see getting more than $2500 for it.

I dunno about that being a "DD" due to it sitting a couple of years. Prepare for sticky brakes, leaks and such before DD status can be attained.

Exactly on the markets fluctuating. Appraisal my ass too. The way I see it is something can appraise for whatever it appraises for by some asshat who appraised it but it's not like that appraiser is offering that same amount to the seller now are they?

The Ice Car sat for 6-7 years before I bought it, The Scab sat for about a year, I'm well aware of the problems that arise and that they keep arising for awhile. Add replacement of the original 2G alternater to that list as well, that went on both cars shortly after getting them home or on the way home (you were part of the story on the second one). For most people I would agree that this car in question is not DD material (too much work), but it's rough enough that I wouldn't feel bad making it a DD. Also, since the price is in Canadian, it's actually in my price range (until getting it from CA to home is considered).

LoL yeah, who knew my old 2g would come in handy? Kind of why I hoard. Anything can be made into a DD, it's just a question of time, patience and money for parts.

Paint looks OK on the 90 - but they did paint over the rubber parts on the chrome pieces. Also got paint on the emblems in the back :-\

On that '86:
Never buy anything that "needs headgaskets" unless you plan on replacing the engine or fully rebuilding it anyway. Reason being is you don't know the failure mode, or how long the drove it like that. So even with head gaskets you could end up with an oil burner or such. Parts car.

On that '88:
I've seen one with that top at a scrap yard, Ryan's in Detroit to be exact. Bad conversion though, as they didn't change the C-pillar trim
Looks clean underneath though.

On that '89:
There's a fluffed up poverty model if I've ever seen one. I hate, hate, HATE magic numbering too. Call it 7 grand ya butt cheek. You're not fooling anyone with that amount of money anyway. Not that the thing is worth it by any means. $2,800-3,500 all year long.
