Up for sale is my family's 89 LTC that was purchased new in 89 from Paul Cerame Lincoln/Mercury in STL. It's not a Signature Series so not a lot of options. Full vinyl top, coach lights (working and not cracked), color is Cinnabar outside and inside. No seat tears that I'm aware of (cloth seats) and headliner is good. Everything mechanical is funtional (power locks, windows, seat, A/C, etc.). Has remote trunk release button in glovebox (not sure if all Lincolns got this or not. Analog clock that works. Non-digital dash. Semi-Auto climate control. Power antenna works. Trunk key cover is still there and works. Factory single exhaust w/ newer Y-pipe. Stock 5.0L. Stock 3.08 open rearend. Oil changed religiously w/ Motorcraft filters or Wix and Valvoline oil. Tires show plenty of tread still. All other fluids replaced as well. Mileage as of 10-26-13 sits at 194,950. Was undercoated when new.
Has the brushed steel hubcaps, not the turbines and are in good shape. All chrome except the drivers side fender moulding is good and cleans up nicely. Glass and plastic lenses all good as well. No rust around the cornering lights, which also work.
Unfortunately there is some bad as well. Rust on the pass. lower quarter near the wheelwell (not through yet, but needs to be delt with soon), a rust spot the size of a golf ball on the drivers door, the lower chrome moulding on the drivers side has the front 6" flattened due to a blowout my Mom had years ago. I bought them the replacement piece and my Dad never installed it, so a replacement is included for the buyer. The glovebox does sag but closes and the drivers door panel is shot (armrest, like all the others). Needs a complete new full vinyl top installed as this one is dry and cracked. And the killer part is that the paint is shot. The clear started to go on the upper half (hood, trunklid, edge of doors) and my dad in his infinite wisdom started to strip it down to repaint it. Well, he gave up and now it sits with just the base coat in these areas. Looks like shit IMHO, but not my call. Dash pad should be good as it's had a cover over it. Haven't pulled it up to look at it. If you want to see it please let me know and I can get a pic of it.
Currently plated in MO with a passing inspection and insurance (still gets limited driving time). The pics show June of 2013, but it has been stored in the garage most of the time since then so not a lot has changed.
This car is by no means a show car or even close to it, but a decent survivor. I think it's a good solid base to start with and fix over time. The mechanicals are all good so if you took care of the cosmetic stuff then it would be a true looker once again. If I had the room I would take it myself as I've always loved the TC's but I only have so much space, time and $$ for my own projects, which I have too many as is. That's why if it has to go I would really like it to go to someone who will give it the attention and care that it deserves.
I do not have it listed for sale anywhere else at the moment. Thought I'd start here and see if anyone would like to save her. Below are some pics. Please either PM me or email me at jasonh@stlcom.com with any questions or if you are interested in purchasing her. And yes, I can have the Moolah shine emblem removed from the left rear reflector. The Sony CD head unit will go with it as well. Included in the sale is the factory AM/FM/Casette radio that still functions properly. The doors and rear 6x9's have been replaced with Rockford Fosgate speakers. The dash speakers are still stock. The jack as never been used and resides under the full size spare that has been replaced with a newer tire. Copy of the original window sticker is available. The build sheet has not been located as the seats have never been out of the vehicle.
With all that said, I'll offer it up for $1,000 OBO cash. First come first serve. If you would like to see it in person please let me know and I will setup a time/date to meet. If you want to take it for a test drive that can be arranged as well. I will clean her up inside/out prior to purchase. Vehicle is located in St. Louis, MO 63138 (Spanish Lake to be exact). Thanks for looking!
