    engine oil viscosity

I have a 76 Mercury Marquis 2 door 400 cu in, I live in the UK and take this car to shows (when we get some going again over here) and the car gets a lot of attention and I love driving it. I shipped it in December 2018. Can anyone tell what viscosity engine oil is recommended by Ford for my car, I have several workshop manuals but there is no mention of what I want. Thanks for your help guys.

There is a 76 in the junkyard I'm headed to today. Usual to get one this old.

10w30 or 10w40 sounds right to me. If the oil light flickers or it runs really low pressure, go for the 10w40.

*in my previous post, "usual" should have said "unusual". The junkyard car was pretty straight. Pretty well cared for but outdoor storage had taken its toll. Had some weird integral carrier rear axle. Was expecting a 9".
