    New guy

Hello all, just thought I would introduce myself. I just picked up a 1989 grand marquis as a second car, and am loving it so far! I'm sure ill be around asking technical questions in the future.

Looks like a nice ride! Welcome to the last forum you'll ever need! I've been a member here about ten years I guess. I haven't owned a Panther car for a while and went away for a bit, but ownership should happen for me sometime early next year at the latest, so I found my way back. This is the best forum I have ever been a member of, especially for mechanical and performance info. Lots of friendly folks!

Looks clean, I dig the turbines & illuminated entry! Ugly Eldorado next to it is cool too.

          Welcome!

Very nice based on what we can see.
Were the wipers left on when the key was shut off or are the wipers having a hard time tucking under the hood?
If the wipers are having fitment issues try a set of Rainex Fusion wipers.

Thanks for the welcome! Thought I would update yall on it. Im not sure about the wipers, it looks like they clear the hood, but that is where they want to rest. It is surprisingly rust free for a car thats been in the northeast its whole life, and considering it has 150,000 miles, I believe it was garaged most of its life. Im loving the car so far, very different from my bimmer, but just as enjoyable

Somebody has probably dicked with the wipers, maybe it's just that they're out of alignment or something. I've never dicked with mine. Mine don't part all the way either though, they hit that spot like where yours are, go down a bit but not to the stops like Ashley's '89 TC does. I've been told the park feature of the wipers is part of the motor so that if I replace the motor there's a good chance I'll get them to work properly again. I don't have a problem with the wipers in operation so that's why I've been lazy about it.

Here's some more pics, it's a bit dirty as I have been driving it every day. No old car surprises have shown up yet, although I do have to address the power steering fluid leak...Click image for larger version
