Hello and welcome from a non-box person! I grew up on VWs and only came to Fords fairly recently. My family has had three jettas (84?, 00, 01) two beetles (62 cabrio, 66), and a Golf GTI VR6 (95). So most of what I've worked with are fairly recent. The 66 is mine now, but I haven't had a chance to do anything with it so I haven't added it to my sig.

T&A for us "boxers"Originally posted by DerekTheGreat View PostHahaha I enjoy the way you type. Reminds me of Resident Evil zombie talk, "Itchy Itchy Scott came. Ugly face so killed him. Tasty."
Where did you scrap this town car? WHat was the color of interior? Facotry JBL stuff in it? I am not interested in anything other than Red, White & Blue so thankie on omitting VW stuff lol.
Welcome by the way. THis site will give you all the box exposure you can handle, much like a strip club! Arm yourself with TFI modules, distributors, thermostats, radiators, water pumps, vacuum lines & fuel pumps and you'll be all set.

The bug on top of the towncar does look like fun. If you lived out in the sticks like I do, you could've linked up the controls and gone double-decker off roading. Reminds me of when I used to drive my pos Venture van down the lane to the back forty, sitting on the roof with a foot on the steering wheel. Good times.
My bug looks a lot closer to the one on the roof rack than the other one. Mine was my parents' project before I was born... hopefully I can get a little farther on it before passing it off on my own (hypothetical) kid! Once the Grand Merc is a little more solid... and the Saturn, and the Camry...
That sleek wagon though!

WOW, that's a very nice wagon you have.
I just got my first Mercury wagon (CP) a few months ago.
It is that same blue color.90 Colony Park LS with GT 40 heads and intake. HO cam, 65 MM TB, 67 MM EGR spacer. Has a 75 MM Pro Flow mass air sensor. Borla XS mufflers. 3L55. Shift kit, 2000 stall Tq convertor...Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars.
90 Colony Park LS 64,000 miles all original. 3L55 tow package....front and rear sway bars.
91 Grand Marquis GS....HO motor..Bilstein shocks poly bushings and police swaybars. This one handles the best.
70 Torino Squire with M code 351 Cleveland 3.00 has Magnaflow mufflers. Hidden headlights and power windows. All original

wagon is clean, won't go into details of things I've hauled/fucked in it, but its clean and smells like the pine tree air freshener that is dangling from the rear view mirror, not like any substances of other types.
like i said, its too nice for any of the stuff that you can put a catshow lincoln up to; like, i've never tried to pull a van out of a ditch using a ratchet strap around the B-pillar of this car, for example.
someone should buy it from me so I can get myself an English Wheel and a pickup truck.

Hey, welcome (I'm late to the party, I know). Also a box owner with an air-cooled vw in the garage. Got a '66 beetle with sun roof option! We did a front disc conversion and it's running a 1600 in the back. Lowered for awesomeness. Fully replaced the interior too and painted the outside nassau blue (C2 Corvette colour). Well, actually it's my wife's car and most of the work was done by my father in law, but I disassembled and sanded it. That counts for something right?************************************************** ******************************
1997 Crown Vic - Mostly rust free, moderate mileage. On the road... but far from perfect. **SOLD**

Ha! I took got a box after dealing with nothing but ACVW's got a 1968, a 58 hotrod and these watercooled engines are a bit different kettle of fish! All I can say is replacing parts on the 1968 is easier but these boxes are cheaper to get parts for. Go figure!
Greetings from another noob!
