    New from Traverse City, Michigan!

Hello. I've been lurking here for a few days and just decided to join. Look forward to learning everything about these cars as well as sharing my own knowledge. I actually didn't know of this site originally. I tried joining a Crown Vic forum but after 2 weeks for my account to be approved I started searching for a different forum. This one is already better as it only took me 5 minutes to join

About the car: Found a 2000 Grand Marquis LS with only 60,000 easy miles on it in near mint condition at the Cadillac dealership that I work at. The asking price was $6000, but since I work there, I was able to get it for only $3000. It's been one of the best cars that I've ever owned. I've actually desperately wanted a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car for about 15 years now. Every time I go car shopping, though, I always seem to find a cant-pass-up deal and get something else. This is the 26th car that I've purchased and I held firm on a Panther this time around. Passed up deals on BMWs and even a once-in-a-lifetime priced Audi A8L that was an amazing handling car.

Bit about me: I will be 32 years old this month. I'm married and have a 13 year old daughter. I'm heavily obsessed with motorcycles, as well as cars. In addition to the MGM, I own a Dodge Stratus R/T coupe, Ninja ZX9R and a ratbike/chopper/bobber that I built off of an XV1000. Enough of my rambling now, just excited to actually be able to JOIN this forum

Hello! Welcome! Make sure you keep an eye on the coolant crossover tube on the front of the intake of the 4.6 engine, if it hasn't been done yet. The front of the engine will have a plastic (black) coolant passage on the front of the engine, or it will have the replacement, aluminum-shiny crossover tube of WIN! You can wait until it starts leaking on '96-2002 model cars, or you can get it done proactively.

        Welcome!

Our strong suite is the Box era Panthers, 79-91 CV/MGM and 80-89 TC (I think, I'm not too familiar w/TCs), but there are plenty of guys here (not me) that know quite a bit about the newer Panthers.

Thanks! Yeah, I know about the plastic tube. Since it seems to go around 100000 miles for everyone, I was planning to replace it in 30000 miles (at 90000).

I love Novi! We spend a lot of time down there. Tons of restaurants and the Twelve Oaks mall is pretty cool. Plus my favorite aunt lives in Novi.

Have launched on a lot of areas along the west coast of Mich and boated as far west as just past the Macanaw bridge upinto macanaw island around Drummand island. Just loved how clear the water was up there reminded me of the Fla Keys. But the water is too cold.

I'd imagine it will be. A lot of the cars were cars that I bought really cheap and later realized that I could sell them for much more. There were some pretty cool cars though. Couple Porsches, a Range Rover. Maintenance costs were pretty unreal, though.

Water temps vary from year to year. Most years it's bearable, but this year it never really warmed up enough to get in.
