The body lift really was only to get the tires to fit, I'm not planning to donk it or anything but I'd like some semi aggresive tread on it. I'll definitely try the f150 springs. Personally I just don't like the look of how it sits currently. It looks and feels way too low.
    Current cars:
1989 Crown Victoria LTD wagon, 94,872 miles

I've tried foreign cars but I always come back to Ford in the end.

It sounds like I'm gonna be going for f150 springs, but for curiosities sake what problems might I run into trying to do this? I assume they fit but it would be really snug.

Cars from the 80s and early 90s are rare in themselves here to be honest. The Crown Vic vintage I have is the only one I've ever seen in Vermont, I had never seen another crown vic wagon period. Rust just kills our cars over here so fast. The only reason this one survived is because is came from Montana.

Good Samaritan has a lifted wagon. Not sure if he is active anymore, but you could shoot him a PM.

There was a recent new member who has a lifted sedan as well.. called it his zombie apocolypse mobile, or something.

Don't mess around with a bodylift. A body lift puts everything on stilts. Swap the mounts to urethane, and lift the suspension (within reason) with springs, and longer shocks. You only have so much room for lift before the geometry will be out of whack.

nice to see another fellow panther close by....erm well 2 hrs is pretty close anyway, another spring i could suggest is the limo spring, although unsure about the front, but the rear i know for a fact can stick a 30 in tire in the back.

89- don't use the gears of turn-to-wax fail, that's only a 90+ thing, no need to worry about that with an 89.

From what I gather many of the eastern states have strict inspections and I've been told that vehicles with certain amounts of rust are not allowed on the road. Not sure how true that is but we have had many panthers, in at least fair shape by MI standards, from out east thanks to my dad's buddy in NH. We don't have inspections in MI, and rust is just a part of life here. That may be part of why you don't see many box panthers near you, they get shipped elsewhere when they become no longer acceptable to be on the road. (or so I've been told)

Here in Maine, the yearly vehicle inspections are pretty strict. There is very little oversight, so each inspection station will fail cars whenever they want more work. If you do not fix it at their station, they cut your old sticker in half, so the police can watch your car. The inspections are brutal on rust of any kind. Of course if you are buddies with the inspector, things are different.

For us rust is the biggest reason that cars get scrapped. I had a 1994 escort with 124k on it that was never maintained or washed by the previous owner. When we were forced to take it off the road we used it as a field beater, it was so badly rusted that after the first jump the rear end from the back seat to the trunk split in half. The rear axle fell off along with the bumper, right rear wheel, and basically everything else. Rust here just sucks.

As of now I think I could get a pretty decent size tire in there but it would most likely rub. I think the f150 suspension is what's gonna most likely happen

Interested to see the 150 suspension. The wagons look like they need a good 2 inch lift no matter what.

Is there any specific year of f150 springs that might work the best for this? i was just gonna go with 89 but if a newer style would work better I'd be all for it. And by difficult to get in do you mean the way the car is set up or just having the spring so much taller?
