    new guy

First time panther owner from central Minnesota. Question, a few weeks ago while strolling the web i came across a couple page post on crownvic.net that had all kinds of info in it about these cars and alot about suspension. Can't figure out how to find it and crownvic.net seems to be abandoned by the administrator. (Account not approved) for 2 months. Does anyone know that article? Thanks

          Welcome!

The older boxes might be our strong suite here on GMN but there are certainly members on here who, unlike myself, are very knowledgeable when it comes to the newer stuff if that's what you have.

Hey guys. I have a 98 gm and it leans a little to the right (front&rear) so Im going to replace springs and shocks all around. My question is if I can run stock new replacement (moog) springs in the front with the police spec. kyb gas adjusts shock? Reason is I want the benefit of the better shock with bump stop etc. But I don't want the extra ride height the police spring might give me. Moog says police spring is stiffer by quite a bit and taller by a little (1/2 inch) if i remember correctly. Also police spec. shock is slightly longer. Or am I messed up? Also I don't want the ride to be too harsh. I've never driven a interceptor so i could be over reacting altogether. I would like to firm the ride up. Just afraid of going overboard.

all panthers lean a little to the right (true) because they're conservative cars (joke).

I've yet to see one that doesn't lean a little. Mine leans a good 2 inches or so on the right since I got run over a large curb.

it might actually be worth while to see if the body mounts are cratered or not.

Gas-A-Justs are pretty firm from what I hear but not crazy stiff. That said, I think you'll be okay with the PI version of the Gas-A-Justs. Should be no problem to swap them out.

My wagon leans on the left rear. My old '82 leaned to the right rear. I guess they just like to lean. I put a coil spring spacer on the '82 to get it straight.

Thanks for the info guys. I"ll check the body mounts and order an extra coil spring isolator.

Welcome. I used to buy my new cars in the 80's in Wadena, MN. I also owned land up near International Falls. It can be very cold up there.
