    Hello!

    Hello everyone!

I'm new here and I figured I would say hello to the community.

A bit about me and My Pride & Joy

I'm from Western NY and I am a first time car owner. First and foremost let me apologize for "n00b" status but hopefully I can learn from everyone! My ride is a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis GS; I'm the third owner. It belonged to an elderly gentleman who gave the car to his son who took care of it. I bought the car last summer with 66,XXX miles on it and I've put a little over a 1,000 miles on it since then. I kept in the garage this Winter but I plan to have it on the road this Spring! I'll try to get some photos up here to show but pretty much it's a beige colored body with a "lighter/brighter" beige half vinyl top. When I bought it there were two minor cosmetic rust spots, but I got those fixed. This is my dream car because it takes me back to my childhood (My mom had a 80's Lincoln Town car when I was growing up) and boy does this car bring back memories.

Anyway, that's a bit about me and my car, and I look forward to hearing from everybody!

P.S. Yes I am a first time car owner but I love this car and will take care of it! Hopefully you all can give me some advice on how to keep it around! Thanks!
Proud owner of a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis GS!

Welcome! I like the enthusiasm and the willingness to spend time and mone on these cars.

We're generally pretty patient about any "n00b" questions, as a lot of us (myself including 3 or so years ago) bought these as our first cars ourselves.

Post some pics when you get a chance and ask all the questions you'd like.

          welcome aboard.

there is something unexplainable about a beige panther
You know the car runs well when the only things left to work on are the rear door cigarette lighters.

Noob to Noob, howdy! These cars are the most unrecognized value in Car-dom: perfect size, great inherent balance and handling, decent mileage, cheap parts, what else do you want?
