    Another newbie

    Hey guys.
I figured just about every make of car has its own forum and I was right. I found one for the grand marquis. lol
Anyways, I just picked up a 95 LS in nice shape for 700 bucks. Low mile and runs great.
Its going to be my new daily driver to replace my 94 impala SS. I have 2 of them. One runs great but the body is showing its age and the other is just the opposite. Runs like crap and its the one I drive.
I was going to make one good one from the two but using one as a daily driver really limits how much I can do at one time. Plus it takes time away from finishing my 67 firebird.
Thats where I started looking for a crown vic or grand marquis and I found what I think is a nice one. Only one problem, all my car guy friends started bugging me about the white walls and telling me I must be getting to that age.
Well I already found a set of 06 mustang bullit wheels for it. And thats where I ran into another problem. I knew the offset was going to be different but that was a bit of an understatement.
Looks like I will need about a 1.5 inch spacer maybe more. Not sure, Kind of hard to visualize how much I need buy trying to hold the wheel up while its on the hoist.
Any opinions from someone thats done it on a 95?
Thanks in advance and I look forward to learning more about these cars.

check out the aero/whale tech threads for lots of info. the 95 is an aero, just so ya know. LOTS of good reading in those threads (especially the stickies).

1 1/2" sounds right for late model Mustang wheels on those.

Welcome. Got any pics of your cars? I've always like the Impy SS.

        Thanks.
I'll put up a few pics later. I'm at work right now so don't have access to them other than facebook pics.

Should be able to view them though.

once you're done with making your SS's into one nice one... you can use the leftover tail pipes for exhaust upgrades to the panther.

Good idea but the SS's are both for sale once the panther goes on the road next week. I was wondering if some of the exhaust pieces would fit.
I really want to finish the firebird for next year (its a stretch but I'm gonna try) and don't have time for the impalas.

                  Thanks.
A friend loaned me a pair of 1 1.8 spacers to try tonight. The front is almost perfect but the back needs to come out just a little more.
Going to see what the local speed shop has in stock tomorrow,
                  Also painted the grill tonight.
Sorry just a crappy cell phone pic.

Are you planning to paint over any other chrome areas?

You know we spent about 10 hours working on my firebird today at the shop and every time we took a break, that was what we talked about.
Still trying to decide if I should do the chrome over the head lights. So far its 2 for it and 2 against it and I'm on the fence with it.

Now you just need to restore or replace the cloudy headlamps.
