well the locksmith came out and made the keys at like 8 AM, called me at 8:30 and it cost me $100! WTF? And he just made two ignition keys.... didnt make the door keys!
so now if i want door keys it will cost me $25 extra?
So i am not too happy..... but now i can at least drive the car.
perhaps this is the beginning of a not soo good relationship....

How far did he travel to get to your location?

        In my opinion?

$125 for the keys is fair.

Knowing that, I may have new keys cut for my doors and trunk rather than replacing the lock cylinders.

Nope i checked the trunk no dice..... cant find them anywhere. i am afraid they might have been thrown out!
As for the lockssmith he only traveled about 15 minutes... but there are only a few where i live. Im kinda in a country-ish area. about 30 miles from major area.
I still feel that $125 is high, considering it took him maybe 15 minutes to make keys... just my opinion i guess.

I know of some locksmiths that will make keys for locks if you bring them the locks for about $30 each lock. But if they have to come to you... yeah... $100 easy just for one.

$125 isn't bad. On a business trip, a locksmith charged me $75.00 just to get into a locked rental car. That was probably over five years ago.
