N00b here, I consumed a good minute or 2 of my life reading the rules and saw mention of this "battlefield". Do I need to request access? Haha. I've actually been on CVN for many years, was searching the internets for Mark VII ECU info and noticed there's a lot of good info on this site regarding performance SBF's and Panthers. I've got a '92 with carb'd 289/T5 swap and just bought a 2000 Exploder engine today. Gonna do a full gasket kit, install with 1990 TC harness and '86 Mustang ECU. That's what I've got laying around, but I want to get myself a Mark VII ECU to keep my cruise control and then tune that since it's $600 to get tuned. I just discovered today that Moates.net has the stuff to tune Fords too, so I think I'll go that route. If anyone has the operating system info off a Mark VII ECU though that'd be great so I can verify that it's actually supported!

The battlefield is basically where threads get sent to if they turn into a fight/flamewar or get very controversial. The founders of this site started it partly as a splinter group from a CVN which they felt was over-moderated and had various other grievances with. One of the ways they have come up with to be more to the other end of the scale is that most threads don't get locked and deleted, they get moved into the battlefield. The battlefield is unmoderated and it is generally accepted that what is said there stays there in terms of disagreements and insults and the like.
You get access to the battlefield after 6 months of membership. You can request access before that, but I think that's usually reserved for people who are being talked about in the battlefield or otherwise have a specific reason to become involved in a thread that's been sent to the battlefield.
Occasionally there are also threads started in the battlefield, like people calling each other out, or ones based on very controversial issues.
Note: my answering isn't meant to imply I'm smarter than Rick.
