    rocket from russia

hi to all. i'm a newbie on this forum, but registered a long time ago
my name is tim and i live in moscow, russia and drive old american cars for many years. i had grand marquis '90, which was restyled by myself to 79-83 model, mercury topaz '86 , very rusty amc gremlin '76 and now drives '85 colony park and 2003 sable.
for this time my wagon is waiting some engine rebuild parts from USA, because the engine knows better days. old american cars are very rare here and it is too difficult to find a good car. my wagon was found in siberia a year ago.

Welcome man. What engine do you have in your colony park?
EDIT: You have a 5.0. Have any pictures of the car to share?

welcome! and a toast to your new/old car! nice to see that people take interest in old cars still. many here in north america would not be caught dead in these cars.

we have a club of american cars owners here. there are ~300 old american cars in the whole country. but russian customs is very wild and if you buy an old car in US, you must pay a weird customs duty (~30-50000! USD) if you want to get a new documents for your car. but it is some people who have a new old car with documents of the other old car which previously lived here. sorry if it's hard to understand, but it is our reality

its not hard to understand. politics are fucked no matter where you are. we go through the same crap. but, 300 is a good number for a car club. and i like how russians are gear heads and love mechanics.
