      rpm? I've never seen rotating speakers...

      I think you mean nominal power/RMS, which should be close if not matched for optimum sound output. Peak values are just marketing numbers that people like to use for bragging rights.k

          rms isnt the only factor there is also SPL rating the highr the SPL the louder it will sounds with the least amount of power going to it.

          for instance:
          take two 200w speakers one has a SPL of 85 and the other has a SPL rating of 93 the one with 93 SPL will be louder due to it takes less power to operate efficently.
          89 townie, mild exhuast up grades, soon to have loud ass stereo....

              true... though with the low end speakers I typically get (ala WalMart)... it's a non-issue.

                I think I'm going to replace the rear speakers.
                Any good ideas as to what speakers would be the best answer?
