    New Guy on the Block

Hey, my name is Chris and I am from NC. I have a 1991 Crown Victoria with a 351w in it. the carb on it now is messed up and now i want to put after market on it. The part stores around here don't know what to tell me because the original one is a 2 barrel and i want a 4 barrel. Can someone please help me out??

I'm sorry to hear that your parts stores aren't willing to be helpful. It's perfectly easy to stick a 4V carb and intake on your engine. Edelbrock's "Performer 351W" PN 2181 is a popular choice when emissions testing isn't a concern, or if you must run a functioning EGR system you might find yourself considering something like the somewhat pricier PN 3783 "Performer EGR" and matching EGR spacer (PN 8053).

IIRC, Broncos and some other models came with a factory 4V-equipped "351 HO" in the mid '80s, but those manifolds are made of cast iron instead of aluminum and seem to be relatively uncommon.

I did such a carb swap.

Maybe if you look at some of my past threads, you will find some things of interest.

          Its not that hard.

I'd actually swap to a regular 2bbl if I were to do it again, but thats a different story for a different time.

Hey Chris Welcome to the site! where abouts are you at in NC? I'm in Denton NC.

Oh and the carb thing, I would just gp back wid the 2V unless you want and intake and carb conversion on it. If I'm not mistaken I belive a 2150 Series Carb will bolt right up. Please correct me if I'm wrong guys.

True, and 2150s have a reasonable reputation even though I had little luck with mine (tried to rebuild one, ended up calling Summit and overpaying for a brand-new 2121 manifold and 1403 carb).

One user here went ahead and got an aftermarket 500cfm 2V Holley, and I think he's been reasonably happy with it.
