Just a simple question. have you checked the rotory button and cap, wires, plugs, and timing? Just some thoughts

      Hello there r2t!

Brandon, yes Ive checked everything. New cap, new wire, new rotor, new plugs, bought a timing light and its spot on.

It seams like a carb issue though. Ive adjusted the mixture screws and now it doesnt have enough fuel at idle...but too much at 1/4 throttle. It has nothing to do with the accelerator pump, I know this cause it did it with the other accelerator pump. Its weird. And it doesnt do it if I very slowly increase throttle. its only when I punch it, it hesitates and when I go immediately to 1/4 throttle.

Im going to turn those screws back to where they were so it will idle. Im also thinking I should order a vacuum gauge and a rebuild kit for the carb.

Wow the interior is damn near mint without even one dash crack? Amazing.

Yeah I know... Louise only has 86,000 original miles. But she sat for 10 years.

Cleaned the carb very thoroughly tonight. Still dumping too much gas, but idles so much better after I removed the "mud". Ill adjust it in the morning.

Oh yeah, those tires that she had on when she was parked ten years ago...well, I aired em up, and they are STILL holding air since last year, though they have slight leaks as should be expected. Ive also been up to uhhhh I dont know how fast cause my speedometer only goes up to 85. But it kept going! Like theres no end to the acceleration...I only slowed down cause I dont trust these tires. I will be getting new ones SOON, and burning the old ones till they blow.

But on a side note, Prowler tires are indestructible and appear to last forever. Till you punch it and they become bald.

Beats the piss outa my 83 tercel wagon. lol.

I have BIG plans for this car. Think, stock looking outside, stockish interior. 500hp motor.

Oh and stock 0-60 without mufflers is 9.9 seconds with a super rich carb.

yup, a 351m/400. Sittin on 160hp and 314lb foot of torque.

Ive cleaned the carb. it just needs adjusting now.

Im scared to pull off the vinyl top, but its coming off sooner or later. I already have holes in the truck behind that window...big enough I can stick my hand through. But thats why I bought a welder.

I know, I saw some thread where a member here pulled the vinyl top off of another members car and fixed all the rot. Me and a buddy are gonna do it ourselves with the final stages being done by a bodyman friend of mine. Im more concerned right now with making her run right and run fast. Im chocking up the rust holes as weight reduction right now. lol.
