    Hi, I'm Veinot

    Hello,
I joined today because I am trying to figure out what I should do to a 4.6L SOHC to make good hp and torque.
I am new to fords in general, for the longest time I have been looking for an Impala or Caprice because my cousin had some good 350 performance parts he said I could use on my chev project. Well, it has been exceedingly difficult to find a good chev that has good styling for a good price, and they are getting dated. So I looked into some other vehicles and found the Panther Body Ford, it fits all my criteria, but... I know nothing about modular V8, I know little about the 302's and 351's, but atleast I know a guy who can tell me more and help me out, the modular is a different story.
My other cousin says I can take a modular and make more car than I can handle even with the stock 4.6L in a Vic or Marquis.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone has put a 5.0L 302 into a 1998 or up Vic?
    Is it possible and/or recommended to stroke/bore a 4.6L into a 5.0L?
I'm looking at building a lower compression engine with an eventual supercharger...
Is there anything I should keep in mind about the various 4.6L when I am looking for an engine?
These are just some of my questions, I want to build a grand touring sedan with mild to mid performance value.

Thank you for your time.... sorry for the long windedness.

Welcome, I too know very little about modifications to be done to the 4.6, although I know they can be done. There are a few people here that know loads more than I about everything, so I'm sure you'll find some help.

If you have an AOD transmission, you can bolt a 5.0 or 5.8 to it. But that was only in the 1992 models.

          And welcome!!

I would love to have a panther with a 5.0 push rod as oppose to the SOHC or DOHC but I'm not sure if the 98's and up can support that without massive sergury

They could accept it. I mean, it is the same chassis. It's just the wiring and tuning aspect. Or carb it up.
