    Fender Trim?

High I was referred here by 87_Crown_Vic from another forum, long story short i am going through quite a bit of trouble finding some fender trim for my 91 grand marquis, everything aftermarket is wrong and the garage cant get them anymore. 87_Crown_Vic says there are a few members here from the east coast, Im in NH, and that someone may know of a hot spot to get them. Any help would be much appreciated, this is the last piece i need for the cars restoration to be complete!

maybe try the looking to buy forum? Your Request would get a lot more relevance. Good luck finding that part, Im assuming you've tried salvage yards. Oh, and one more thing:

Hi, I recently installed some nice fender trim from Fenderworld.com on my 85 Ford LTD Crown Victoria. My installer, who was already doing final paint touch-ups, said they were almost a perfect fit, but he had to do minor manipulations for a better fit. As well, he added a rubber seal.

Here are some pics. I think they look great, but they're certainly wider than the originals.

It's very hard to tell, but both whole fenders are not original. I found them at everdrive.com. The one give-away would be the lower left and right light openings. I have only seen those opening on the 4-door version, as opposed to my tudor (see, I'm already getting onto the lingo here

I have some wheelwell trim I took of my '81 (I think it looks better without it), but some of it is dented and would require restoration. You may well be better off getting some from one of the fabled U-Pull-It yards in PA.

Do you need any corner in particular?

I just got a pair of NOS fronts from Green Sales in Ohio. They were $35 each. They only had left rear and it was over $100. Still looking for a right rear myself (new or good used). The reproduction stuff on Ebay won't fit a 88-91 Grand Marquis because it is made for cars with the wider rocker molding (pre 88 Grand Marquis and all Crown Vics) but it is of good quality and only cost about $12 per side (only the fronts are available though).

                      Here is a 1991:

It has a bright aluminum rocker molding.

                      Here is a 1987:

It has a black rocker molding and bright aluminum trim above it on the bottom of the doors. The wheel lip moldings are about 3" shorter to accomadate all the extra trim. Low level trim Crown Vics like police package (like mine) also need the longer wheel lip moldings.

If you order from Green, you will need the part numbers:
                      E9AZ16038A right front
                      E9AZ16039A left front
                      E9AZ5429165A left rear
E9AZ5429164A right rear (but not in stock)

Oh, so it's more a what-fancy-rocker-trim thing and not so much a year thing.

Stupid typo, I said rocker and not fender lip .... still, you answered both questions. :p

On the Crown Vic that would be true. On the Grand Marquis it would be a year thing.

the later trim was ugly. But I know of a few Mercury's that have that trim on there in the junkyard. Is it just glued on?

No, not glued, about 6 or 7 small screws. I found the best way to remove them is to insert a phillips head screwdriver into the screw, then whack the handle of the screwdriver a couple of times with a hammer. This loosens the screws up enough so you don't strip the head trying to turn them. If you do see an undented passenger side rear molding on a 88-91 Grand Marquis, I would be very greatfull if you snagged it for me. It seems like all the cars I find in the yards around here have been hit right on that wheel.
