Noobie: Looking at 2000 GM GS

    Greetings!

I'm looking at a 2000 GM GS with 85000 miles. I can get it for $4900 cash price from a local dealer.

    Issues with the car :

rear tires are toast, especially the passenger side.
Right front passenger front door pull handles missing.

smokers yellowing on passenger side door and some burn marks in upholstry. (Anyone know how to get smoke smellout of a car?

factory stereo removed and a jvc unit stuck in which sticks out about 4 inches past dash, not secured. it can be pulled out by hand and it looks to be a rat nest from wiring mutliation.

when the car was started, a knocking sound came from the engine right at first, then disappeared.

Some paint chipped on ther front bumper cover.

Car is beautiful, but it sure seems like it's been rode hard and used as a getaway car.

Main concern is the knock at startup. My mom's 96 has over 200K and doesn't do that.

Sounds a lil rough for the money. I'd keep my eyes open for another one.

yeah, I'm kinda having bad vibes off the car, myself. but, not being much experienced with the 4.6, figured I'd get additional input.

BTW, Love the box tech here!
