    New member in the UK

Hi, I just signed up to the forum. I'm in the UK where Mercurys are very rare. I have a Grand Marquis 1998 4.6. I've had a 94 Thunderbird for the last 4yrs and fancied a change. I've had Grand Marquis a couple of times when on vacation in the US and got hooked.

I also signed up to Mercuryforum.com, but am a little disappointed with the level of activity on the forum. I posted a couple of mesages and got little or no response. Hoping this one will be better....!?!

Thanks. The license plate is what happens when we try and squeeze a UK type number into a US sized plate space. The one thats shown is how they want you to do it. Here's a pic of my previous car with the layout that I decided to have (which is technically illegal as the letters aren't the "correct" width). That plate will be transferred to the Merc when the paperwork comes through.

                  Really?! Thanks for the replies.

I've never seen any others around on the roads (but I suppose that doesn't mean anything). I went to a show Good Friday in Aldershot and I was the only 1998- Grand Marq. There were a few Crown Vic cop cars, but no Mercs.

There was box 20min from me owned by a guy called Lee (aka festerfly) but apparently he sold it. Theres a crown vic on 22's as well but that's owned by an American serviceman.

My mum said she's seen a 'car like Tom's' a white crown vic in town but I haven't seen it yet.
