What to look for when purchasing a GM?

I've found some good deals on some Grand Marquis in Minnesota. I've found one dealer that has two 07's with 35k and 44k miles. Both are the same price but one is a GS with white wall tires lol and the other is an LS with leather and whatnot.

I'm going tonight to look at them and maybe buy one. I just want to know if theres anything I need to look out for and if anyone has any clue what the differences are between an LS and GS.

Thanks (yes I know I signed up 2 years ago and have 2 posts lol)

Welcome to the board! The Grand Marquis GS model is the "base" Grand Marquis, while the LS is the slightly upscale version. I think the only real differences between the two are the wheels and interior. Just pick the one that you like more!

look them over well to see brake condition, fluid conditions and such to make sure you get the better condition vehicle... i personally dont like leather since it is hot on summer days and cracks over time.

Yeah I'm not too sure about the leather seats either. I've had them before in a buick regal and liked them for the comfort and I really liked how easy it was to clean up. Cloth does seem to hold my butt in place better and I like it better when it's hot or really cold lol..

I did notice that the LS has some nice fog lights. Are those easy to install in a GS or would I have to wire them in?

fog lights are easy enough to mount and wire up... gives you access to add the switch where you want to hide it also for cosmetic reasons. unless you have no reason for a switch in the car to be used any more... the wiring might also already be there by chance for foglight addition at dealer that factory puts in anyway.

A little update.. I didn't get either car because the dealer didn't have them. They're both still on the website for the dealership. They had two other cars there that I was interested in but the website neglected to say (or show in the pictures) that one side of one of them had been sideswiped and the other had ran into something and had the bumper all messed up.

I don't recommend Bloomington Lincoln/Mercury to anyone. The salesman was also a jerk and tried to tell me that it would only be a few hundred bucks to have the sideswiped car to be fixed when it clearly had major issues.

I have looked into that too. Theres a really nice crown vic sport with the center console that I like, but they're asking 10 grand for it and it has 74,000 miles. Compare that to a few GM's I've seen 15/07 with half the miles for the same price. Then there are the marauders I've seen for 11,500 with 55 thousand miles or so, but those are in another state :-(

How much were you looking to spend? I seen a new MGM GS advertised for $13,995 not to long ago.
