Always good to see another 2001 MGM owner. I have the MM airbox and 04 PI zip tube on mine along with an SCT tune, gives it a whole different attitude.

Does your car still have the composite intake? Mine does...but not for long. I will shortly be pulling the engine out of mine to fix a leaky headgasket and an exhaust leak, I'm planning on installed an updated manifold at the same time.

In a few weeks if weather here in the northeast breaks, lol
Im planning dual exhaust and i need to put badly needed lower ball joints and front brakes and rotors. Need to get a new bumper cover for rear found a crown vic version 1999 and 2000 witch ever looks better for 20.00. Then maybe a AC compressor mine is making alot of noise i can pick that up for 20.00 too at a yard i know.

Seems odd that your car would need lower balljoints at 80k, does it have a lot of city miles or something? My '97 still had the original lowers at 150k, but the uppers had been replaced.

i know but i had them checked and the mechinic show me. he was able to push up on lower control arm and show how loose the joint was plus when ever im driving you hear a lot of rack it going on too.
i have the tools to fix it so it cant hurt..

You are on the right track by getting everything up to snuff before spending money on mods. If you are going to go through the trouble to replace the lowers, I would consider doing the uppers at the same time. Unless they have been previously replaced, they are probably worn as well. I am a fan of the MOOG greaseable balljoints, they are more expensive than a lot of other brands but are good quality.

Other ideas: How does the ATF and gear lube look? Lucky for me my car was built early in the year and has a torque converter drain plug, I drained all the ATF at 60k and refilled with synthetic fluid, at 92k the fluid still looks new and the car shifts great. The gear lube in my car looked NASTY at 85k so I changed that as well.

One more, the spark plugs were borderline out of spec on mine at 75k, I have been running NGK v-powers since then with great results.

still have to do lower joints, uppers were done. as soon as weather breaks or at least 40 on a weekend. going to a yard i know and pull off a p71 the exhaust pipes and sway bars need a rear bumper cover oh ya maybe the rear gears drive shaft..

That will be a start. then me and my friend will start looking in at engine i think by the time were done might end up putting a supercharger and nos.
body wise going to maybe black out all chorme and repaint a basic cool color so it does not stand out to much unless i put the pedal to the floor...lol
