im new to all of this, the forums and having a ford
i just bought a 1985 ford crown victoria ltd only 142000 miles on it
not bad for $700 from some old guy. This car is awsome clean interior and exterior. Its a fuel injected 5.0. i cant believe a v8 only goes 85mph. i dont care i love this car. i used to drive a piece of crap 94 chrysler lhs. the damn thing always broke down too many electrical problems. stupid ass chryslers. i got rid of the damn thing for only $300.
THe only thing i did with the CV for now
new spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, and an o2 sensor.
the car has better gas milage and runs smother.
How can i get higher top speed?! funds are low im looking to spend at least $2,000 for now.
I went to a mechanic they say i need new gaskets and seals for drivetrain and motor for $2,000 with parts and labor is this a rip off or good deal?!
would it be wise to just buy a rebuilt motor instead?
thanks,
Leo
ps. glad to be part of the club
