    Couple of noob questions

    Just a couple of questions:

    1. I wanna get mufflers that are nice and quiet at idle but are nice and loud when you punch it. Any suggestions?

    2. I wanna do my interior black, but I havent found any CVs, GMs or TCs with black interiors. I tried paintin the door panels with the Duplicolor Vinyl/Fabric paint, but it just makes the fabric real hard. Did Ford even make a black interior for our cars?

Yes in fact, in the ebay section, there is a black Mercury Grand Marquis for sale, black interior and black exterior. Black interiors are rare for boxes. Good luck looking.

I have a Magnaflow muffler on my truck, it's got a quiet rumble at idle and a nice loud deep rumble when you hit the gas. Pretty much any muffler is quiet at idle, even straight pipes aren't that loud at idle. But if you want loud you'll need a muffler that's pretty straight through like my Magnaflow. Glasspacks are straight through, you might like those.

        ^^^

As for quiet mufflers, Dynomax Super Turbos seem to be somewhat in favor ... lincolnmania has them on at least one of his cars. If you want tinnier and more aggressive, I have a pair of Flowmasters that may be becoming available ...... is your exhaust currently stock, or have you made some upgrades already?

Well the car used to be a single exhaust. I just put on a dual exhaust but its stock size. Thanks.

Stock diameter ... that can be nice, since you can run a somewhat louder muffler without going nuts from the noise.

magnaflows are quieter all around than flowmaster, and a lot quieter at startup. they got a real decent sound on the road too. IMO you'd like mags for the vic with duals.

Flowmasters tend to resonate, and are loud at all times in my experience. A packed muffler is quieter at low load conditions, and gets throatier as the throttle drops down. I like these, and should have waited for them instead of my flows:

Just throw some glasspacks on... I think you'd be satisfied.
