I was thinking with all the fried aods maybe a thread/ sticky like "To all new Box owners" or "You can prevent a tranny tragedy" that contained the basic tech for checking and fixing the tv would be a good idea. Even if it helps just one person (and Im pretty sure it would help more cause frying a tranny cause of the tv seems to be a newbie right of passage here) I think it would be worth it. I know that the info's here already, but for some reason newbs and/or idiots like myself don't realize how important the tv is and dont find it in time. Id like to write it, cause I dont get much of a chance to contribute any real info around here.

you are right, this is a good idea. I think a non-forum web page with the basics and links to threads about the basics is in order. Then, we can add a link to that page from the forum.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

Problem Solved ?
I think I just figured out where this (and other info) belongs: in its own category under technical called "New Owners". It would be a place for basic info stickies like checking the tv cable/ grom and other info newbs should know along with perhaps keeping the other forums from getting clogged with the same basic questions.
