Does anyone use Tapatalk? It will be going away.

The site plugin is giving us a lot of grief and we are planning to remove it. This is what crashed the site yesterday. If you use it, please note that you won't be able to after we remove the plugin, but the site works well on mobile using desktop view. It does ok with mobile view as well, but the full version I think is better.

Is that the reason for the random inconsistencies in the latest reply functions? Like wrong name under pf pic and not directing to the last post?
I'm not a Tapatalk user, I was just wondering as the beforementioned problem was very apparent a day or two ago.

I use it but if removing it fixes issues and improves the reliability of the site I don't care if it goes away.

I don't think Tapatalk is the cause of the formatting issues... but it may have been a result of the backend issues it's causing. Removing it should also decrease the server load as it will be writing less warnings and errors to the log file.

OK. It's gone. Hopefully that will fix things. It was an OLD version anyhow.

Slow response time, today (sometimes) and a few "System Error" screens and then after recycling the page, the site comes up. Are these related to the issues in this post?

Possible. There are slight changes to the site code due to removing Tapatalk. Usually browsers will refresh on changes, but some will use the cache first. Forcing a refresh client side should reduce site display issues, but the system error message seems to be happening due to server side issues. Other clients on the server using up resources and not allowing our site timely access to the database could be one reason. Since I disabled the high server load warning, this may be the error we get. There should be less server load on our end at least. Removing Tapatalk definitely fixed some issues and will reduce disk load from error messages being written, but there are a few other issues we need to look into and may need Pete's (site owner) help to fix. The site seems to be working well right now though. Which is encouraging. I had some issues with the Tapatalk removal and killed the site for a few minutes in the process, but fixed that mistake without any issues (permission setting gone wrong). As usual, we'll keep trying to keep the site going as best as we can.

I have every confidence you (and others) will keep it "up to snuff". I, for one, and I assume others appreciate all the work you put in to keep this site up and running!
