Hmmm. Sounds interesting; I can't say I've ever heard of a torque multiplier give the context, at least not how I'm thinking about it (which could be the problem). Most times you just use a longer bar. Is it a gear train/ mechanical advantage? A 3 foot breaker bar/ cheater pipe, with a 200 pound man putting all of his weight on it will net you 600 ft*lbs of torque. Of course, if you could do the same with a regular 1/2" drive and this torque multiplier, I guess you'd look like a real "he man."

My aunt had a Super Beetle convertible, but I only got to ride in it once; one of my limited experiences with convertibles, or older Beetles. It was fun nonetheless. One of my good friends had a '65 (I believe), black with a black top, and a red interior. Porsche wheels, and he was working on putting in a worked over Porsche engine, althought I don't recall the exact details. He had it lowered too, and that was a sweet car.

I wouldn't have a preference; both cars seem to be equaly appealing to me. I'd like to see a super clean CP, or this VW; especially that transmission setup.

My Dad also had a '55 Bug, that came to the US from Sweden. He had it in the late 70's, and it was/is mint. It is currently owned, and displayed by the oldest continuing VW dealership in America (http://www.nmvw.com/) in their showroom. I stopped to look at it one day.

One guy I spoke with uses a 3 ft breaker bar and stands on a scale and pushes down until his weight decreases by 100 lbs.. Sounds like it makes sense.
I like the idea of using a 3/8 ratchet myself....
