Bring the VW. I've never seen one up close and personal that still worked. The only autostick car I've seen had been converted to a 4 speed.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Mind you I last had a stock carb on a Beetle in 1998, so my memory on this process might be fuzzy.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I think I got it tuned pretty good. Once I noticed that 180 degrees off of the large timing mark on the pulley is another mark that appears to be about 5 atdc. Once I set the timing by that mark, it adjusted up pretty nice. Only issue was I read to start at 2.5 turns out, but had to go closer to 4 to actually get it idling right.
Runs smooth with decent power, so I am happy. As soon as that axle nut tool shows up I can get the brakes fixed and back on the road.2000 Grand Marquis LS
