haha. I sense great confidence in my engine building abilities. This car has always pinged, its had 3 engines in it and it still pings. I'm convinced its related to the tears in the vinyl top adding more wind resistance. It'll probably be fine once I replace the top.

3 motors and the all ping? have you replaced the balancer? Sounds like a persistant issue.
yep, balancer, chain, fuel pump, fuel tank, regulator, injectors, every sensor, exhaust, ecm, wiring harness. tfi, distributor, coil, wires, plugs, transmission, rear, radiator, hoses, many water pumps. About the only thing original are the fuel lines themselves, the lower rear control arm bushings, and the sheet metal. I'm fully aware it makes no sense, but thats what it does.
