Texas Panther junk yard meet (late-May/early-June)

Everyone,

We spoke a little bit about having a junkyard meet in late-May/early-June when I have a couple weeks of leave scheduled. Let's try to nail down some finer details on this (when, where, etc.).

I probably won't be getting an engine this go around. The money just isn't there right now. My car's engine is running fairly well, so I'm going to run it for the time being and see about trying to get a new engine next winter.

What say y'all?

works for me... what yard are we looking to invade? I'm down for June 2. I may still bring the trailer just in case I find the interior subwoofer panel for my Expedition. I don't think that trim will fit in the back seat. (I'll measure what I have and figure that out before hand.)

We were originally talking about that place I've gone to in Sunset, but they have mostly old cars there. Pretty sure I've never seen an Expedition there. I'd be up for coming down to DFW to check out some of the Pick-n-Pull yards. I need to get big brake and rear disc parts.

I went to the yard on Wednesday and there was this nice white 89 mgm with tan (pennut butter) interior the whole front end was perfect and still had the grille

It was last inspected in 05 if im not mistaken the first one u post the link to is the one i saw i took the lower arm since mine where a little bent.

Will keep an eye out, but I have yet to see a non blue interior box towny for some time now.

I'd really like to get myself a set of heads with the possibility of just rebuilding my stock short block in the future. There are four 1996 V-8 Explorers showing across DFW in the Pick-n-Pull inventory. I'll have to call to see if the engines are still there. If not, I'll settle for some E7s.

Go for the P heads, they're the better of the two. The only hitch is you need proper headers, and apparently the Ford Racing ones that worked very well for not-retarded money are out of production.

I'd be leaning toward the GT40Ps if I didn't already have a set of brand new non-P headers that I got for a steal. The only company that makes a P-specific shorty header now is MAC. I can't even find the FMS headers used anywhere.
