Hate to break it to you, but you definitely won't find enough people to start any kind of club with these days. While Massachusetts used to be a hotbed of panther activity, nowadays there's not a whole lot left going on. I was very active in the panther scene there, and I know of a grand total of 0 people who owned a box grand marquis and were a member of any panther forum or facebook group.

If my poor '84 hadn't been totaled I would interested too. It's too bad there's not a bigger appreciation for these cars. I bet in another 10 to 15 years that these cars really start to become appreciated and take off, but sadly (well happily for us cause we get good deals) these cars still sell in the sub- $1,000 range

Check out completed listings on Ebay. The nice low mileage ones will bring some decent money.

I send some emails to a cragslist ad in my home town about beautiful CV with 70K miles. Asking price was 2500 but have mysteriously not heard back from the seller. Guess he sold it and forgot to remove his ad from CL. I'd have wasted the gas and time to go look at it and make the guy an offer!

That's true, the really nice one's sell well, however I've seen dozens on Craigslist over the years sell for peanuts that were in decent shape. Mine was one of them, 66k miles original owner $500

Getting a panther club together in the NE would be great except for the NE is so spread out. It takes me 4+ hours just to get out of the state. Many time here in Maine, I am the only person with a panther in the show. What bugs me is the shows start at 9 and people leave at 2. We have many people come down from Canada with their cars . Some of them put our cars to shame.

Yes Maine is far from metro NYC, but I can not believe we could not get cars together for a show??
It seems more Studebakers are on the street than panthers

Another thought, with all the car shows over the spring and summer months, why not initially gather into a group to attend these shows, and then attempt over time to have a separate club?.........it would seem one would have to attend some FoMoCo gathering with many models in attendance??

I know I spent allot of money to go to the 3 day Emergency vehicle show and parade in Chicago a couple of years ago. I flew into Chicago due to the distance. Had fun and met allot of people and their cars. I am all for getting together for a panther meet. It could be allot of fun. Because I went to Chicago, my wife wanted to go to Japan. She got stuck there during the earthquake and flood.. As I said, VERY expensive car show.
