well the weekend of the 10-12 seems like it wins. For me and Ryan both, it would have to be the 11th. So 9/11 looks like its going to be the date. Now we just need location. Columbus has been tossed around, but that would suck for you NY guys. Cleveland also has been tossed around, but that would suck for us NW ohio guys, and the southern ohio guys. My thoughts would be to do it in the sandusky area, Although it would still suck for southern guys, but it would suck less than cleveland. Any other suggestions?
f we were to do it columbus, we would have Delaware State park for a grille and chill, Jegs for spending money, and then I can check on National Trail, but they should have a test and tune. Sandusky would be the same way, only there would be some killer photo chances, and we would have Norwalk Drag strip. Cleveland I have no idea, if someone from that area wants to chime in and see what we could do.

I've never been to one of these so I don't know what to rec, Cuyahoga National Park is a nice but not particularly 'fun' drive, Summit Racing is in Tallmadge Oh (not too far)...

But I'm fine where ever, Columbus, Sandusky, .....

I had thought about summit, but I was unsure how far it was from cleveland (its closer to akron ins't it?). We would basically need a park or somthing along those lines for like a cookout and whatnot, and maybe a dragstrip for later on.

I really like the looks of Columbus, but I don't want to exclude anyone because of distance :/

I went to mapquest and looked at general locations, this would be the gameplan for the different locations:

Cleveland Area: Grill and Chill at Cuyahoga National Park, Trip to Summit Racing Equipment in Tallmadge, than I don't know what.

Sandusky Area: Grill and chill up by the lake, we could probably work in a couple yard trips to Port Clinton, Then Test and Tune At Summit Motorsports Raceway Park (in Norwalk)

Columbus Area: Grill and Chill in Delaware State Park, Trip to Jegs Superstore, then Test and Tune at National Trail Raceway.

We could probably figure out something else to do for cleveland, but the two drag strips I know of are NHRA caliber, and Norwalk is my home track and they have REALLY nice facilities. If everyone can come into agreement, it would probably be up to how far people are willing to drive.

Scott I'd offer you to stay with us but I'm an hour and away from the shortest location.

If it's anywhere near Cleveland you're always welcome at my place, near I-271 and I-80 (the turnpike), small house so you'll have to use the floor (I do have a good camping mat & bag).

If you get the rear end to Cleveland I can get it to Columbus, I visit there every few months and could tweak it faster ...

Summit, how far, it depends on where you're at in Cleveland. It is closer to Akron but Akron isn't that far from Cleveland. Less than an hour from the 'center' of Cleveland (defined as the intersection of I-77 and I-90). Longer from the west side, generally closer from the south or east side. Just an idea, perhaps others will chime in with site and activity suggestions.

                  Pete

[EDIT: No drag strips in Cleveland, Norwalk is the closest]

I would really be up for Sandusky.... mainly because I am familiar with Sandusky, as well as Summit Raceway, and can get everyone around with no problems. Sandusky has an enormous plethora of places to eat. There is one or two yards in Sandusky, but the one only had one box Panther, and it was toasted under the hood.

I am open for any location, as long as it isn't more than 100 miles away.

Yeah my grandma lives about 15 minutes south of sandusky, and my MOm grew up there, That was my number one choice, there's a crapton to do downtown, plus Norwalk Dragstrip kicks ass. I also am aware of 2 yards that are box havens in Port Clinton (kind of a drive, 45 mins tops). If the NY guys are willing to drive there (closer than columbus lol) that would just leave 1980c10.

EDIT: Just checked both Drag strips for that Night, Norwalk is running the season Championships that Night, and NAtional Trail is closed all weekend, that just happens to be when they are running NHRAs lol. So the drag strip might be out, unless you want to go to the season champs at Norwalk, Bob Motz should be there, along with other jet cars.

EDIT AGAIN Scratch that, It not the same season championships I was thinking of.
