    '89 style headreast, R&R info

Today I pulled the headrests out of my '89 CV...

Pain in the butt to remove these, you have to carefully pull the back of the seat off in order to get a flat head screwdriver in there to release the spring clip. Not a perfect match in color, but alot better of a headrest IMO.

EDIT: The CV headrests also roll or tilt forward so your head doesn't have to go back as far to meet it.

I've been trying to figure this one out for a long time. Where is the spring clip? If you have the seatback cover off, is the clip in front of, in back of, or on the sides of the headrest shafts? Does it grip the groove near the bottom of the shaft?

Neums. You see the brace for the seats right? well behind that brace up a little bit right against the back of teh brace slide your long flat head screw driver up and the once it gets caught twist the screw driver and pry really hard up on the headrest.

        Hopefully these help.

The general location of where the clip is.

If you get the screwdriver in there just right and pull it back, the headrest should pop right out. Just be careful not to bend the clip.

Worked! Got a perfect pair of dark blue vinyl headrests from the U-Pull-It yesterday. Along with a pair of center armrests, I probably saved at least $100 in reupolstering costs.
