Evolved washer fluid & coolant overflow tanks...

This upgrade has many practical uses, including making room for cold air intakes, a battery, or for aesthetic reasons

This washer tank is from a mid 90's vic or gmq. To fit it in I had to move the voltage regulator, but otherwise it fits great. It even lined up with one of the holes for the regulator.

*FIRE HAZARD* --- If you have an externally regulated alternator, the voltage regulator MUST have a ground to its case while the charging system is operating, or the harness will catch fire. Our fender wells are plastic, so a ground strap is needed. Mine is now grounded by a 10 gauge wire to the radiator support, so far so good.

You guys with 86-89 MPFI will have to move your relays. Have fun! :P
I like this better than the original combo reservoir... I plan to upgrade to the '90 TC fan shroud w/coolant bottle too, as soon as I find one.

yep!!!

well actually it was hot when i disconnected it, so it shouldn't be dribbling currently.
Its not really crucial anyway... its not a 'leak' ... without it the radiator is always a few quarts low when cold, and full to just below the neck when warm, so I can just let it be till I find the combo shroud

eh its no big deal. For ages cars had no overflow bottles and they worked just fine that way.

yeah, we have 2 relays stuck there, but not much issue to move it. They actually should have more than enough wire to move them to clear the washer bottle. They could even be moved down to the fender well i suppose. The existing setup is just a plastic cover over the relay itself, so it doesn't serve as a ground or anything.

some more tidbits of info....

I made this hose rig becuase the nozzle on the pump points towards the headlights, making a tight kink in the hose.

Also this particular tank didn't come out of a town car, it out of a grandmarq I think, mid 90's era. The washer fluid tanks Ive seen in towncars are different than the vic/gm ones. I guess due to different outer fenders making different inner fenders... The towncar washer tanks might work too, but maybe not as easy as this one did.
