Piece of SHIT. I got the intake on there the first time, everything was fine. Except that the temp wouldn't go above C. Then I took it out on the road, ran fine. Gave it a lot of throttle, started missing badly. Got it home, checked everything I possibly could, but no clues. Started it the next morning, ran fine. Took it out, still wouldn't go past C, gave it a lot of throttle, actually just took it up to 55 and put it in OD, went to slow down and turn around, same shit again. Me and Pirate figured bad intake gaskets or the intake was warped. He sent me some quality intake gaskets. I checked the gasket surface on the intake, straight and true. Put the gaskets on, torqued it to spec, got it running again. It's STILL doing what it was doing before. I got it home and started checking some more. I started pulling some spark plug wires. The fucker is only running on 4 cylinders. 2,3,5, and 8 are firing, the rest are dead. The wires are at least getting spark, I can hear it popping in there. What the hell would cause this to happen?
Now that I'm thinking about it, could it be the carb? It's a dual plane manifold, so if it were operating incorrectly, two cylinders on each side would mess up right? Somebody help me out here, I dunno what the fuck to do. I was supposed to take the POS on a trip, but that ain't gonna happen now.
Carb is a 1406 Edel and the intake is a Professional Power Typhoon dual plane.
