Great looking console pete, thats the one that inspired me. Easy to build and a perfect spot for guages.

I just noticed you stole my tach-in-the-clock-hole idea! You owe me money!!

The hinged bit gives me ideas for making fun storage bins. The pegboard stuff is very easy to work with - I used it for the sides of the mini-console I made a few years ago. I used sheet aluminum for the top and wrapped blue automotive carpet from Wal-Mart around the sides and front. It was fun, but I never really got it looking quite right. I have ambitious plans for a full-length console once I get my hands on a set of bucket seats.

My biggest question, though - where do you guys get the vinyl for this stuff?

I got mine at wal-mart, but i think any craft store that sells fabric would have it. You just buy it by the yard, and dont need much. Wal-mart didn't have the biggest selection of colors, so you might have to shop around a little.

I'm not into it real big. I just use a Radio Shack cheapo CB and a short magnetic mount anntenna. Works fine for me, I can get signals in from 10 miles and send them out just as far at night. Picks up an electronic fuel pump real bad though, but no worries in the '82 since it's mechanical.

I just like to keep on the traffic reports and the truckers have some good stories to tell also.

I think its so perfect, its meant to be.

As far as CB's.... mine doesnt get poop for range and I have a crappy antenna. Im sure the CB sux too, I could never get more than a 1/2 mile clear range with it.

That's a future plan for the Deuce. Possibly with some diamond plating... hmmm...

I thought I'd mentioned that in my last post ........ I've kicked around vague ideas, but haven't gotten around to trying to actually design something. I don't suppose you've come up with any good ideas on how to do it?

I may steal your design, I want cup holders damn it! Also if you want to be creative, you can run a vent to the rear seat by somehow hooking it up to the center vent. Is that a vent, I always feel heat come out when I have heater on?
