just a couple other things to check out.

Hey mang. Im going to go with scotts advise agine. ( It's really a good trick! )

Also, Im not sure whats all done to install a remote start but you might want to check the manifold for a vac leak? Carb cleaner around it should tell you rather quick. hehe.
I hope it helps. But really if it wasn't doing it before it went into the shop Bring it back. to that shop. Might not be a bad idea to put a cam in your car either if you can. Or stay around and watch the Mechs and what they are doing to your car, I learned from my grandmas mistake never leave your car at a shop.People should not be afraid of their governments. Thick film
I had a similar stalling issue. Mine was the thick film gizmo. At the time Ford claimed they were either bad or they weren't. Mine would work, then stall. Then after a second or two it would work. A mechanic's nightmare. Changed the $12 part, bought the special $5 wrench. Problem solved.
The other electrical demons sound like ignition issues. Could you have more than one problem going on there?

Have you replaced the pcv valve, screen, and grommet? if thats not working, the rear two cylinders will tend to oil foul the plugs. Bad valve seals or clogged oil drain holes in the back of the head will also cause this. The motor tilts downward in the back, and if the motor is all gummy inside, the oil lays back there and drains down around the valve stem.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Thick film
The thick film module is on the bottom of the lower cap on the distributor. It looks like it is just a flat wire connector, but there's more in there than a connector. They would get hot and do all sorts of wacky things. There was a big lawsuit against Ford over this. Everything they made used it. You'd be going down the road and it was like you just shut the car off. Sometimes they'd work again and others it wouldn't. Ford finally moved to a coil pack on the newer 302's as a result. Common issue. The parts counter guys at most stores know all about them.
