Originally posted by kishy View PostIf anyone is interested in a 1986 grey on grey Grand Marquis with flawless frame and very good but not perfect body for about $1k, please get in touch. Car is in Windsor. Runs, drives and stops. Perfect dash pad. Needs tires before it can roll on its own again. Front bumper has rust peeking through the chrome, rear is good. Package tray behind rear seat is absent as was either moisture or sun damaged, I forget which. Only body issues are minor paint issues and some rust by one of the cornering lamps, as far as I know so far.
A contact of mine saved it from the crusher and intended to put it on the road, but has run into a financial situation and needs to sell it. I am buying it pending availability of storage at another friend's house to save it from the derby. Seller is mostly connected to derby people and is trying to get me to save it from them, because if he sells it to anyone else, it will go to that fate. However if I can't line up a buyer it'll be a moot point having saved it.Originally posted by kishy View PostNot meaning to spam, but this hasn't happened yet and is still an option.
The car is really, properly solid. It is a prime candidate for anyone this side of Toronto, or even the nearby US Midwest, if someone wants one.
(edit: pics link removed. for status refer to Reader's Rides thread)
It has tree sap all over it, paint needs love, body is very good but not perfect as you can see. Pics are from a while ago.
It's a solid car waiting for a loving home but its time is running out. Get in touch (with me) if you want me to put you in touch with him. It isn't listed for sale anywhere, he's mainly going through me to find him someone for it.Last edited by kishy; 08-18-2020, 03:35 PM.

That white '89 Town Car in the combo deal is an AHA Formal! Saw its twin four towns over last year, replete with a vinyl top that was basically falling off. Was parked at a mechanics shop so hopefully it was getting the love it needed. Probably the easiest of all the boxes to slicktop, assuming you can have the full size rear glass made for it. Two tone gold '86 is sharp! '91 Town Car ad makes me laugh, 5.4 mod motor wasn't even a thing back then. Obvious neglect and other things make me wonder how much of these list prices is to keep derby folk away and how much is based on crack pipe....
Good move buying that slate grey '86. If I wasn't tapped out with land yachts and the border was open I'd be seriously considering that one. Eva needs a boxy-box stablemate dammit. Unless job situation continues to improve I'm tapped out until early 2022 at the earliest.'89 Grand Marquis "Ebyt", '85 Grand Marquis "Eva", '94 Caprice "Kira"
'84 Town Car "Stacy", '79 New Yorker “Anita", '93 Town Car "Kelly"
'80 Mark VI "Allie", '94 Grand Marquis coming June, '79 LTD-S "Oksana"

I think that unlike any of my others, the 86 will pretty much forever be for sale to a good home...so there is nothing final about me grabbing it. But we'll see. There is nothing about that car not satisfied by my others, so it doesn't bring anything new to the table and therefore no new reason to hang onto it long term. But we'll see.
