It is really as easy as it sounds... it wont work with LED bulbs unless you find 194's that work with both polarities...

sorry for the stupid n00b questions but: how do you splice into an existing wire? putting another 5 inches or so of wire on there is easy enough (just crimp it on there) but I don't think I know what it means to 'splice this into the green signal wire for the signal bulb.'

I understand the concept easily enough..getting rid of the existing ground for the 194 lights and putting the bulbs ground wire into the pulsed feed for the signals.

        Awesome Pete

And 1990LTD all you need to do to "splice" into a wire is take a razor blade and cut away a bit of the wires insulation then wrap the other wire around the wire you just stripped the insulation off of and make sure to tape up everything nicely after you are done.

oh ok.. I was thinking on snipping the wire I wanted to splice into, twisting one end together with the wire I want added in to make one wire, and sticking that twisted end into a butt splice connector. Didn't know it was that easy.

p.s - thanks! I've often lamented the fact that you can't see our front signals from beside the car.

okay time for a painfully obvious but necessary question to be asked.

To make it simple i will only talk about the drivers side headlight bezel and lights.

Only the inside light doubles as a parking light and a directional, so in order to get the other two lights to flash i will have to take the other two lights grounds and connect them to the directional signal. Right? Just want to make sure. I am almost wondering why I am asking the question lol.

Pete, how does it look with the lights "off"? Do the marker lights flash "on"?

As for a clean way to tap existing wires ... Go to Wal-mart ...

Yay I just got in from doing the mod. It was as easy as cutting the 194 lights grounds, crimping them together along with a 5 inch or so piece of wire and tapping into the marker signal wire of the dual filament bulb. The only difficult part was finding some room to work on tapping into the signal wire. Ford did not leave much room for that signal harness to be pulled out of the front of the car. I had to route it up above and behind the header panel to get enough access to tap into it.

87GTVic, by "crimping them together", do you mean the grounds for the two parking lights on each side?

If I understand this right, you join the two grounds of the non-turnsignal lights on each side, then tap them into the positive flasher lights running to the lights that do blink, with the affect of reversing polarity so that when the lights that originally blink are off, that turns on the ones that I've joined the grounds between? Or something?

I think that it only showing one non-flashing bulb is what is throwing me.

Also, n00b question, but is the colouring of the lights the same colour as shown in the diagram (below)

Here is everything you need to know:

Those are the correct colors in my diagrams. Just make note for simplicities sake I just made both right hand side and left hand side flasher signal wires green when in actuality (on my car at least) the right side flasher signal was white with a light blue stripe and the left flasher signal wire was light green with a white stripe.

                          Hope this helps.
