Just some pics. Spent my b-day money on a swaybar. I'm pretty sure the control arms that were attached to the bar at one point and time were the re-enforced ones due to the flare out below where the bar bolts to that is not on my 88's control arms. Spent a good hour cleaning 17-20 years of undercoat off and painting it. I've tried alot since I've installed it to kick the rear end out, and it does its job fairly well. Rear feels alot more planted on the road than it ever did. Definatly pleased.

Looks good, a sway bar makes the whole rear end have a more complete look to it. Keep up the good work mang. Once that HO conversion is done, I feel a POTM nomination coming on.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

The PI arms have the lip bent down to clear the bar. It's not a reinforcement. The arms themselves are made of thicker steel. Not one person has had an issues using the stock arms and the PI bar.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

Ya, i fucked up saying they were re-enforced instead of just stronger. I didnt have any issues using the stock control arms, mine allready had 2 holes in them too. 5 minutes to bolt it in.sigpicVic Videos Here http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...676#post243676

Nice job cleaning the sway bar up, it was in pretty rough shape. Definitely a good upgrade to do, really keeps the ass end of the car planted going around corners.

Definatly a must have for these cars.I probably spent 20-25hrs restoring my old one,it was in such bad shape.A year later I ended up finding a damn near NOS one on a 87 PI,which is what I now have on my LTD.I'm saving the other one for my future Towncar.

dunno what it is, i dunno what the diameters of the different bars are, and according to the f.a.q, there was only one bar, or was I wrong. i'll measure it another day and tell you.sigpicVic Videos Here http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...676#post243676

definatly not the p.i bar. The bars color codes were gone when I scraped off the gook, though the control arms it used to be attached to did have the flanges along the bottom. Btw 89mercury I love these diagrams you keep putting up, so useful.sigpicVic Videos Here http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...676#post243676
