hey i just went to order some parking brake cables from bill at team ford for a 92 towny.....one of the cables is already obsolete, i guess i helped deplete the supply......i tried aftermarket cables twice and one of them didnt fit.....guess what the obsolete one.....so on gadgets car i will harvest 1995 town car rear brakes and order new cables......now some people probably have the option of reusing old cables, but wherever it snows and they use salt, 75% of the time you might as well forget about it.....i will keep everyone updated as of the differences betw the 92 and the 95 cables....who friggin knows lol

shit the e brake in the 97 does not even work, i adjusted it all the way off for some reason and i never readjusted it. it will barely hold the car still , but if im moving it does not have enough force to slow the car. The 85 has none of the components on it anymore, all the way from the pedal, lines and brake assembly is gone.http://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

I need it for inspection reasons here. I use it every couple of months to make sure it still works but thats about all. I like having it just in case though.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I yank mine off of every car of mine, the cable is usually rusted and it doesnt do shit past 15mph. On a FWD it helps, but every RWD car Ive had I might as well hold my foot out the door.Chris - A 20th Century Man \m/ ^.^ \m/

I am trying to talk my Cablecraft/Tuthill representative to get us the smaller brake cable equipment to make custom parking brake cables...I get calls on it daily, but have to send them away. I don't know if it willl ever happen, as most of our stuff here is of the industrial/marine push-pull PTO variety.....excellent quality....Scott, if you can PM me some pictures of the ends, I might be able to get something made at this end.

i took my parking brake out because it didnt work anyways. then i thought about it more afterwards and wish i would of left it in after my really close call losing my brakes on the highway couple months after i first got the car. oh well more of a reason to fix my brakes up and make them safe as possible.
but yeaaaaaa take it from me you would wish it was there if you went to push down the pedal and it went all the way to the floor. if it wasnt for me downshifting and having a steep driveway to pull up in and coming about 5 feet short of going through someones house, i would of bit the dust for sure.Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.
