Recipe by lincolnmania:
91-02 town car or a 92-02 vic/gm....... 93 is the year i use the most because the parking brake cables for the 91-92 are obsolete...... I always use oem ford parking brake cables because the aftermarket ones do not fit well and the junkyard ones are usually rusted or damaged..... all you need from the donor car is the rear disc backing plates and the caliper cores and hardware..... I can put a kit together for you if that would better for you
scott

Rough Procedure:

First, the easy part - replace the backing plates (this requires pulling the axles) and all brake hardware with the rear disk parts.
OR
You can just swap in the entire rear end, which in some cases may or may not be easier, and may or may not be more fruitful, depending on what you've got.

Plumb the brake lines - one can either mimic the factory plumbing for rear discs or creatively splice them into the drum lines.
TIP: donor cars WITH ABS have single inlet rubber brake hoses on both sides.  Cars WITHOUT ABS use a unique left side rubber hose that also serves as a "junction block" to supply fluid to the right rear.  What you need will depend on how you plan to plumb the steel lines.
Also, like with the front brake upgrade, 3/16" standard-to-metric thread brake line adapters may be needed, unless you re-flare your lines and use metric fittings.

Hooking up the parking brake cables requires using some frankenstien modification with a HELP! brake cable adjuster/coupler.  How/where you route and connect the cables depends on the donor parts you use, and requires some creative problem solving.  Once a more solid parts procedure method is established to connect the parking brake cables it will be added.

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH ANY PART OF THIS, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS MODIFICATION!!!
